Our Team

Nicholas Tran

CEO & Founder

At 14, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. I quickly realized that physical and emotional support was vital during these difficult times. I know how it is like to feel alone and isolated, but the truth is, we are not. My passion lies within this organization, which aims to unify those with IBD, instill hope within the children, and empower others to make a change in their community. In 2023, I have multiple projects coming to fruition, some being, a wellness and dietary nutrition app, a TEDx speech, and a research paper on IBD. Empowering my community to navigate their journey with resilience and providing them with the resources they need to improve their quality of life is both a personal and professional commitment I hold close to my heart.

Arjun Cheema

CFO

I am deeply passionate about helping people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) due to the profound impact it has on other’s lives and their loved ones. Witnessing the physical and emotional challenges that accompany IBD in my closest friend and the founder of this company, Nicholas Tran, drives me to make a meaningful difference. By dedicating myself to this cause, I aim to provide support and raise awareness in order to make our world a better place filled with even better people.

Katelynn Dang

Secretary & Head of Marketing

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has affected many people around me. Because of that I would love to advocate, help spread the message of IBD, and support its cause. As secretary, I hope to assist my fellow officers in promoting awareness for IBD and help others affected by it. Connecting with the community by providing them resources and empowerment is a goal that I hold close to my heart and I hope to achieve!

Gabriella Hennessey

Head of Brand Partnerships

As somebody who has struggled with IBD, and various other chronic illnesses throughout my life, I have always made it a priority to advocate for that community. I have worked in advocacy for four years now and in 2021 I was named child of the year by the Olie foundation. Looking to continue I am now excited to be working with unifIBD to not only continue advocacy, but also invoke a real physical change.

Sean Gomez

Projects & Team Support Coordinator

As of 2023, I am working with Santa Cruz’s Central Fire to help homeowners living in dangerous environments with a talk about it on TEDx. I hope to use my abilities as CFO to enact even greater change, this time for the IBD community. With one of my closest friends diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, I can sympathize for those with IBD and know of the pain and suffering IBD causes . I believe it is essential to spread awareness of IBD and I assure you that I am a good fit for this company. I have seen firsthand the effects this disease and I will do everything in my power for this cause.
